Your home's quality double-hung windows have snug-fitting vinyl jambs that provide you with superior thermal protection from the outside elements. This window type also includes a convenient tilt feature which allows you to clean the outside glass from indoors. To tilt your window sashes inward for cleaning, you must first spread the vinyl jambs slightly. The Jamb Spreader provides you with the leverage to easily spread your snug-fitting vinyl jambs and hold them in place so you can tilt and clean your sashes.

If you cannot slide the tool into the described horizontal position using only a firm touch, STOP! Remove the tool from your window, re-adjust It to a slightly shorter length, and try again. The Jamb Spreader Is meant to act ONLY on your windows' flexible vinyl jamb liners, NOT on any fixed or inflexible part of the window frame or trim.
